Chapter One: Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study
Education is a fundamental driver of socio-economic development, yet many communities in Nigeria struggle with access to quality education. In Yola South LGA, Adamawa State, community-based education programs aim to address educational disparities by involving local stakeholders. Public Relations (PR) is essential in promoting these initiatives through awareness campaigns, stakeholder engagement, and fostering community ownership.

PR strategies such as partnerships with local leaders, radio broadcasts, and digital campaigns have been shown to increase enrollment and support for education programs (Okafor & Musa, 2024). This study investigates how PR can enhance community-based education programs in Yola South LGA.
